关于阅读：1. 先每天两篇CNN新闻，为期两个月；2. 第二步每天两篇纽约时报（或华盛顿邮报、洛杉矶时报也可，但是文笔与写作风格没有第一个好），为期两个月；3. 第三步每天一篇经济学人，为期两个月；阅读要达到的状态是每篇文章没有生词，句子全部能看懂，必要的时候要背背单词。
关于听力：如果听慢速VOA没问题就可以听正常语速的新闻了，推荐NBC Nightly News，每天20分钟，坚持几个月下来，可以试着听听John Stwart，David Letterman或者Jay Leno的脱口秀了，这个非常磨耳朵。期间可以多看看BBC，National Geographic或者History Channel的纪录片，ted talks也不错，再加上美剧用以调剂（别看字幕）。语言这个东西，总之是要多听多看才行。

大一新生如何提高听力和口语的方法？
既然你提到考四级，那我就从考四级的角度来讲讲如何练习听力，提高笔试成绩，顺带着练口语。
先说背景，我备考四级一共就用了一个月，分数81.5（当时还是百分制，折算到现在是600分左右），这一个月里一共读透了一本书，做了一套真题。当然，我英语原本的积累比较好，但是从来都懒得背单词，而考前我给自己定的目标是过80分才算及格，所以突击了一下。
那么如何用一套真题一本书突破四级呢？这是有讲究的，首先我的选的那本书，不是随便到书店看哪本顺眼就买哪本的参考书，而是有用意——《15篇文章贯通四级词汇》印象中好像是星火出版社，但近几年似乎很难找到这本书了。
选用这本书的根本原因就是，这15篇文章里已经涵盖了80%的四级词汇，而每篇文章后还会有几道题，重点针对四级高频出现的词汇和短语用法。所以我从头到尾把这本书研究了几遍，每篇文章熟读，不但记住了所有相关词汇和用法，语感也大大提升。
再说说那套真题怎么用。
真题就是随便选的一套，印象中好像是王长喜出，哪里出的并不重要，只要是真题就好。我做的第一件事就是每天早上背几道听力题，注意，不是背答案，而是自己用标准的发音，把整道题，就是录音机里让你听的部分，加上填好正确答案题面，全都背下来。
其实就跟背句子和短文一样，最后把整套听力都背完了。
背听力的用意是，只要你会说的内容，你一定听得懂。而在背听力原文的过程中，再对比题面，你就能很清楚地意识到那些听力中最常出现的“陷阱”是怎么回事，从而让听力变得无比简单。
说句实在话，听力的原文你一旦弄懂了，其实会发现比阅读理解简单许多，大概是因为国内学生普遍是听说不如读写，所以听力题的原文难度也相应的没那么高。
此外，背听力题的过程本身就对提升口语水平有帮助，口语就是你积累的用法和表达方式越多，就越能顺畅地表达自己意思的技能，如果在现有的基础还想再提升口语的话，就多背句子和文章，每天积累一点点，持续下来你就会发现英语对自己越来越简单了。
至于参加英语角、看原声电影以及其它各种，都是你积累的途径而已，选择什么不重要，重要的是每天都要前进，持续行动，才能见效。
