英音和美音的语音区别：
1. /t/的发音
在英式英语中/t/的发音只有两种，正常发/t/或者省去不发，也就是我们说的失去**
如：You should qui(t) this job.
在这个句子中/t/是要失去**的。
而在美式英语中，除了发/t/和失去**以外还有另一种发音，叫做/t/的浊化，即把/t/浊化为一个soft /d/。将/t/浊化的条件为/t/处于单词中间，并且在非重读音节上。
如：It(d)aly，att(d)ic，at(d)om, phot(d)ograph 在这些词中，/t/的发音要变为弱/d/。
2. 不卷舌与卷舌
这一点是大家普遍比较熟悉的，在大部分单词中英式发音不卷舌而美式发音卷舌。
如：water，part，dark，door等。
这里需要注意的一点是，就算是美式发音也只有看到单词里有字母r时才可以卷舌。单词里如果没有字母r，那么不管你是英音还是美音都不可卷舌。比较容易出现错误的是-ous这个字母组合，如：famous，delicious，conscious等。除此之外还有breakfast，idea这两个词，也是比较容易出错。
3. /a:/和/æ/
英式和美式还有一点不同是当a在字母s, f, n之前时，英音发/a:/的，美音要发/æ/。
如：fast, ask, task, after，dance，month等。
4. /ɒ/和/a:/
英音中发/ɒ/在美音中要发/a:/，这里需要注意的是美音只是有/a:/的趋势而已，并不需要将口型开到那么大。
如：fox, hot, box, pot, Moscow, modify等
5. /ʌ/和/ə/
这一点其实涉及到了美音中的音变问题，如bus/bʌs/不管英音还是美音音标都是这样，英音呢就老老实实的按照音标来读。但是美音则会把这里的/ʌ/变为/ə/，不过也是有变为/ə/的趋势就好，不用完全变为/ə/。类似的词还有cut，butter， hut, but, mud, duck, stuck等。
这些就是英式英语和美式英语的一些不同点。想要完全掌握仅仅知道是不够的，还需要自己细细体会练习。可以在词典中找到示例发音，跟读模仿。建议开始的时候专注在英音或美音的其中之一，练好了再去模仿另一个。以免造成混淆。
英音和美音的區別（2）
大家对各种口音的印象大概是这样的：

Australian English: hehabala...(澳大利亚的英语相对来讲有些英美混合，加上一些土著词汇和一堆俚语，所以相较于前三种更难懂一些)
英语作为我们的二语习得，可能大家在学习的过程中都会有些这样的疑惑，英式英语和美式英语到底哪个好？我到底该学哪种？哪个更适合我？具体说下来它们在拼写、单词、语调等方面都是有些差别的。
一、拼写
十八世纪时，Noah Webster为了让英语的拼写听起来更像其读音，对英语拼写做出了改革，这对美式英语的拼写产生了一定的影响。主要为以下几点：
1. re→er：许多单词在英式英语中结尾为-re，在美式英语中结尾为-er,如：
英式：sombre theatre centre
美式：somber theater center
2. nce→nse：在一些单词中英式结尾为-nce，美式为-nse，如：
英式：licence offence defence
美式：license offense defense
3. ou→o：一些在英式中为-ou的单词，在美式中为-o，如：
英式：honour labour colour
美式：honor labor color
4. ise→ize: 某些词汇中英式英语中的-ise在美式中为-ize；除此以外一些单词如果读音为/z/那么拼写中美式也会将英式的-s变为-z，如：
英式：organise cosy
美式：organize cozy
二、词汇
英式英语和美式英语在许多意思上使用的词汇都是不同的，比如同样是“裤子”，美国人会说‘pants’，而英国人则会说‘trousers’，而‘pants’在美语中是“内裤”的意思。所以对于这些词汇差异，大家还是有必要稍做了解的。
三、语调
美式英语相对来说是不怎么动嘴唇的，他们的发音相对来讲更靠后，腹部发声，声音的变化更加依赖于舌位的变化。美式英语更加具有音乐性，大家可以更多的将其与美国本土音乐爵士乐练习在一起，有本美音语调教材叫Jazz Chants，这本书就很好的体现了美式英语语调的音乐性。美是英语语调就像下楼梯一样，以高音开始，以低音结束。当想要强调某一个词或者想法时就开始一个新的阶梯。下行的语调也会让你听起来更加的自信、有权威。不过现在青少年也更偏向于使用上升势的语调，使整个人听起来很活泼并且有朝气。
相对来讲英式英语的语调上升的更多一些，其中英美区分比较明显的是降升调的使用频率。
在英式英语中，降调的使用频率是很高的，比如普通的疑问句Are you there? 如果没有什么特殊情感的话，美式英语会使用简单的升调，而在英式英语中你常常会听到这样的句子被用降升调说出来。语调的区分即模仿相对于发音来讲要更加难一些，因为它会涉及到连读、弱读等现象，这些需要较长时间的练习和积累。语调也并不是像我们小时候所学的一般疑问句用升调，特殊疑问句用降调这么简单的。语调的使用并没有这么绝对的规则，也没有多错之分。更多的是要在合适的场景下，使用合适的语调。
