中国古代地图到底算图画还是算地图？它们真的有实用价值吗？
地图的命名，是根据其内容决定的，即使是徒手绘制的草图，侦察兵战地目测得出的目标图，没有比例，没有精确的数值，都统称为地图。
而图画，是个人的意志所为，一般都是描绘人物，自然景观，即使是描绘了特定的地理景观，由于目测精度，角度的追求，也可以临时作为地图使用，但是，仍然属于图画，不能称为地图。
例如，一些历史图画资料，没有同时期的地图，也作为准地图，或作为资料，改画，重新绘制成较为合乎历史客观事实的地图
