微型化学实验的历史
纵观化学发展的历史，化学实验的试剂的用量是随着科学技术的发展逐渐减少的。
1925年，埃及E.C.Grey出版了《化学实验的微型方法》是较早的一本微型化学实验大学教材。
从1982年开始，美国的Mayo和Pike等人开始在基础有机化学实验中采取主要试剂为mmol量级的微型制备实验，取得了成功，从而掀起了研究与应用微型化学实验的热潮。
1986年，由Mayo等编著的《微型有机实验》出版，全书共汇集从基本操作训练到多步骤有机制备的微型化学实验84个，覆盖了大学基础有机实验并有所改进，与此书配套的Mayo型有机仪器也由厂家批量生产。国外微型有机化学实验的迅速**带动了无机化学、普通化学和中学化学的微型化学实验的研究。
从1986年开始，Zvi Szafram 与他的同事们在Merimack学院的中级无机化学实验中采用微型化学实验，次年实现全面微型化。他们编著的《微型无机化学实验》在1990年出版。
