在加拿大做程序员是一种怎样的体验？
水货程序员不请自来，目前就职多伦多IBM。
以下答案基于答主个人经历，包含主观判断，我来安利一下IBM。
首先说工作环境。
IBM在多伦多有几个office，包括downtown也有。我在Markham的lab，环境优美。
楼层不高，一共4层，周围绿树成荫，还有一条小河 小溪穿过。
公司在highway7 and Warden Ave，交通便利，周围道路堵车的情况比较少，当然如果像答主一样，每天开401来上班，路上花的时间也不少。
再说说硬件设备，我入职的时候是只有Thinkpad W系列的笔记本可选，之后换成MacBook pro了，现在新入职的时候可以自由选择Thinkpad或者MacBook了。显示器是没有的，这点确实很不方便，没有多屏工作起来效率受影响。
楼里设施很丰富，有健身房，还有布置的不同装修风格的休息的地方，改天可以上照片。多数人是拥有自己的cube，传统美国公司风格，隔断高度超过身高。
说完硬件和环境，再说说具体一点的日常工作吧。
先**播一点感想吧，我觉得找工作的时候，对于小公司就是要看公司情况怎么样，对于大公司就要看team了。因为大公司组织庞大，部门众多，每天打交道的都是周围的同事和一些相关team的人。自己team的manager的管理风格，team负责的产品在自己部门和公司的地位，基本决定了你日常工作是否舒心，顺心；也直接决定了职业发展。尤其是大公司里面的边缘部门，地位比较尴尬，公司业绩不好的时候，朝不保夕，人心慌慌。在小公司，没有那么多繁复的制度，个人的影响力会相对大一些，几个人一商量觉得主意不错，可能就开工试错迭代了。在大公司，一个拥有几十万员工的超级复杂系统，已经不是任何一个个人可以控制的了，也只能依靠制度来进行管理，所以有时会出现一层一层approve的情况。
从我们部门来说，产品虽然不是业界老大，但是处于上升阶段。平时工作氛围比较轻松，当然可能个别时候比较忙，但是工作强度和国内来说是完全没法比的，加班更是没有的。每天工作时间灵活，有人早来早走，也有人晚来晚走。从开发流程来说，大体是采用scrum的agile方式，但是并不是教科书式的scrum实践。
因为IBM历史悠久，许多工具都有自己研发的产品，比如IBM有自己的java，自己的CVS工具，甚至连聊天工具都有自己的sametime。不过现在处在过渡阶段，也开始拥抱“新”东西了，比如用slack，用Github，尽管这些在许多地方早已广泛使用多年，但是对于有着多年成熟开发模式的公司来说，改变只能是一点一点的推行。
最后再说说薪资待遇吧。 从答主自己感觉还有glassdoor上的信息来看，IBM的工资水平在大多伦多地区算是中等水平吧。没有亚马逊高，和滑铁卢的Google更比不了。考虑到工作强度的因素，其实差距倒是没有那么大，据说亚马逊的on call导致员工幸福度很低？不知道是不是这样。
和在downtown的银行相比，IBM的工程师文化更强。在银行工作时，总感觉程序员就是被当作工具，尤其是front office的交易员脾气都很大， 有的BA也并不友善。
其他待遇方面，每年15天假期，为了和美国的假期match，额外还有两天floater day。平时公司内部也常有各种活动。另外DCPP的话，公司最多match 4%
最后再安利一下，IBM是一家历史悠久的科技公司，同时代创立的公司多数都已经消失在历史中了。而IBM曾经站在浪潮之巅，给业界做出许多贡献，时代变迁之后，努力调整适应数次挺过寒冬，几经沉浮依然屹立不倒，这本身就值得尊敬了。
IBM面向普通消费者的业务，现在已经很少了，所以许多人都对它不太了解。现在火热的云计算，大数据，人工智能等等，IBM都做了大量投入并且也取得了许多成果，有兴趣的可以了解一下。
