“英式英语”和“英国口音”是一回事吗？
英国英语（British English;BrE），又称英式英语，主要是指居住在不列颠群岛上的英格兰(England)人的英语规则，为英国本土及英联邦国家的官方语言。 英式英语并非为所有不列颠人认同。在某些非英格兰地区，特别是 苏格兰、威尔士与爱尔兰，主张不同方言之共存。他们认为强行统一英语等于无理羞辱。然而，对于英格兰人而言，他们不过将方言的进化看得太严肃。英式英语也是英格兰人高贵优雅的象征，以其板正清晰的发音特色受到了很多英语学习者的喜爱。
英伦腔口音众多英伦腔是一个不好简单概括的口音标准，虽然英国只是一个岛国，但有几十种不同的口音，而且差别还不小。英国没有像中国一样，强力推行所谓的“标准普通话”，所以英国不同的地方的人相遇，还经常听不懂对方说什么。例如身在英格兰西南，听到英格兰东北人说话时我就抓瞎了：“What are you talking about?”（你说的是啥？）
英伦腔口音（accent）由音高（pitch）、重音（stress）和韵律（rhythm）组成，当然也看每个人发元音和辅音的方式。粗分的话，英国大概有10种大区口音，每个地区还分成若干种小口音。难懂的口音如纽卡斯尔的Geordie,利物浦的Scouse，英格兰本土人大多都听不懂。剩下的苏格兰的邓迪、阿伯丁的苏格兰口音也让南方苏格兰人理解困难。
“英式英语”和“英国口音”是一回事吗？
当然不是一回事，我发过一篇文章有谈到关于英式与美式的问题，我节选如下：
英文有两个流派，一个是英式英文，一个是美式英文。当然，很多人会觉得，英文是英国人的原生语言，而美式英语是在其基础上蜕变出来的。这是个不争的事实，可是无论英式或美式，真的没有高低之分，只有自己的偏好，以及你所启蒙的老师是英式发音，还是美式发音了，对于我们国人来说，真的没有那么较真的必要。
在我看来，虽然我一直生活在美国，可是我更偏好英式英文的发音，更有质感与韵味，而美式更圆润与顺溜，不过无论怎样，只要可以进行沟通，就不必那么计较了。
很多人会问，我们在学校里面学习的是英式还是美式呢？从我一个70后的人来说，非常确定的是我们那时候教学的体系是标准的英式英文。我记得那个时候在学校老师教我们的音标就是英式发音，这也或许是为什么我至今还对英式发音情有独钟的原因吧。
现在我们来具体看看英式与美式究竟有些什么差别呢？其实还是挺多不同的，下面我就列出部分出来：
比如单词past里面的“a”，英美有些时候就不尽相同，英式英文发“a：”而美式发“æ ”。r这个字母特别在末尾，英美发音也不一样，英式不会强调那个“儿”的音，而美式会比较强调那个“儿”的音，比如：tutor字母t，英美也有着不同的发音准则，比如water中的“t”，英国人发t的音，而美国人发d的音。字母o，有的时候也不一样，比如fox，英式发“əʊ” 美式发“a：”单词方面，我们会发现颜色的英文，英美也是不一样的，英国人是colour，美国人是color，centre（英式）center（美式）,licence（英式）license(美式)，lift（英式）elevator（美式）等等....英国人比较喜欢用反问式的句式，而美国人则没那个习惯。
说了那么多，其实要认真去罗列，那还有很多很多，所以是否选择英式还是美式，个人建议主要是看你是否在哪里生活？或者你的客户是说英国客人还是美国客人？如果你在英国、澳洲、新西兰，就学英式（本来想写印度，可是却是他们的英文我是听比较费劲），其他说英语的国家基本是美式（谁叫美帝势力大呢）。
