所谓IRIS，就是国际铁路行业标准英文International Railway Industry Standard的缩写，它是一套铁路行业质量管理体系标准，是铁路行业的质量评估（管理）体系。
它是在ISO 9001：2000的基础上，针对铁路行业的特殊要求而由欧洲铁路联盟于2006年5月18日发布实施的（第0版），和航天（AS9100），汽车（ISO/TS16949）、食品工业（ISO22000）中等相似的标准，试图发展成为一个国际认可的标准。
此标准包括真实的评估过程以及审核和计分原则。
