assitant professor 和associate professor有什么区别
assitant professor ：
a teacher at a college or university who has a rank just below the rank of an “associate professor ”助理教授 （级别高于讲师仅低于副教授）
associate professor：
“副教授”，主要有两个不同的含义：
北美的系统中（美国加拿大和其他一些地方）“副教授” 级别高于助理教授而低于教授。
一些英联邦国家，在英国和其他英联邦大学的高级讲师也可称为“副教授”，职位相当于北美的副教授和教授。（如澳大利亚，新西兰，南非，马来西亚等国家的大学）。
（例如，西澳大利亚大学，2009年改为美国式的系统，之前的职称副教授收到新的教授职称，而之前举行的职称高级讲师，收到新的副教授职称）
总结：
在不同的系统中，Associate professor“副教授”的职称代表有差别，在美国，“副教授”的职位要高于“助理教授”而低于教授，而在英国等一些英联邦国家，高级讲师也可授予副教授，并且职位相当于北美系统中的副教授或教授。但是一般Associate professor （副教授）的职位高于assitant professor 助理教授。
