什么是纵贯分析？
(英文名：Longitudinal study)是指在一段长时间内的不同时刻点上对所研究对象进行若干次观察和资料搜集，以描述事物发展的过程、趋势和变化的研究类型。
同横剖分析相比较，纵贯分析的最大优点是可以描述事物的发展过程和变化，并从这种变化中考察事物的发展趋势。
什么是纵向生长？
纵向生长（Longitudinal growth0是指在一段相对长的时间内个体的生长和发展。纵向生长模式则是指母公司与子公司各自己生产不同的产品，经营不同的业务，但这些产品和业务彼此之间是紧密联系和相互衔接的，组成一条生产链。
心理学上也把在一段相对长的时间内对同一个或同一批被试进行重复的研究称为纵向研究。
